Eid Religious Observance – Friday 21st April

    Dear parents and carers,

I hope that everyone enjoyed the end of term two week holiday, and that everyone is ready for an exciting start to the Summer term.

Many of our families will be preparing to celebrate Eid this weekend and I would like to share that pupils will be able to take Friday 21st April as an authorised day of absence to observe the religious event.

School will still remain open to any pupils not observing Eid, however we will not be able to provide our after school play centre. Breakfast Club will remain in place on Friday, but no additional services will be provided beyond 3.15pm.

I would like to again welcome all of our families back to the Summer term, and wish everyone a very happy Eid.

    Regards,

  • Safe Internet and Social Media Use - Parent Workshop - Tuesday 28th March

    Fri 17 Mar 2023

On Tuesday 28th March, we will be holding a parent workshop to help families keep their children safe while online. We will also share some of the ways that you can manage your child's use of social media, such as by installing parent controls which limits access and time on different sites.

This workshop will be of particular interest to parents whose children regularly use their phone or Playstaion / Xbox to chat with their friends while playing games.

The workshop will begin at 9am and will be held in the middle hall on Tuesday 28th March.

  • Free School Meals For All Statutory School Age Children

Thu 08 Dec 2022 Mr Guttridge

    8th December 2022

Free School Meals For All Statutory School Age Children (Reception to Year 6)

    Dear Parents and Carers,

At present, all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receive free school meals under the government scheme.

In order to support families with the current cost of living, Westminster City Council have decided to extend this offer and fund school meals for all children in Years 3-6 who are attending Westminster primary schools. The scheme will initially run from January 2023 to July 2024.

Families who may be entitled to benefit-based Free School Meals should continue to apply, to ensure that they continue to benefit from other support, such as food vouchers and activity schemes during the school holidays. Unfortunately, school meals for Nursery children are not funded.

We do request that any outstanding school meals payments, both historic and up to the end of term, are paid as we need to close down the old accounts prior to the free school meals offer. If possible, these must be paid by the end of term. The Office staff will be in contact with all families who have unpaid balances early next week to arrange payment.

This is a welcome measure to support our families, resulting in savings of over £430 per year. We hope you will all take up the offer of a hot, cooked meal every day.

    Kind regards,

    Darren Guttridge

  • Keeping Our Children Safe

Sat 22 Oct 2022 Darren Guttridge

    Dear parents and carers,

One of our key aims at school is help keep children safe while online and in the community. Sadly, there is a range of inappropriate material available online and our children could find themselves at risk if not correctly supervised when playing games online or when accessing social media.

We want to help our families to keep their children safe while online, and have organised a workshop at school to share some useful information and strategies. The workshop will be held at 9.00am on Friday 11th November. As part of the workshop, we will also show you how to set-up parental controls. If you would like to bring your children’s laptops or mobile phones along, then please do so and we can help put the filters and controls in place.

As a parent myself, I am also concerned around the risks that our children could be exposed to when outside the family home. To help educate and prepare our children about these risks and how to stay safe, the police will deliver workshops to all classes in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 through their schools’ programme, called Awareness Academy. These child-friendly workshops will help to keep our children safe and prepare them from some of the challenges which exist within our community.

If you would like more information around either the online safety workshop for parents, or the Awareness Academy workshops for children, then please do speak with me.

    Regards,
