Year 2 Rhine

Welcome to our Year 2 page Rhine!

 

We loved Spanish and Art day!

In Maths we have been learning all about shapes, we enjoyed doing lots of partner work

In Year 2 Rhine we have started to read chapter books in our spare time, we love reading for pleasure!

Today was Pirate Day to celebrate Math's week! In Rhine class we walked the plank into shark infested waters!!!

We had great fun at the garden learning about water safety with the Canal and River Trust

We had so much fun at sports day!

In Science we are learning about living things. We made posters to show things that are alive and have never been alive.

We've been learning to tell the time in Maths to 15 minute intervals. We love playing telling the time maths games

We acted out the story of the Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch to get ready to write the story ourselves

International Culture Day fun

In DT we made healthy wraps... and ate them! This linked to our topic in PSHE where we have been looking at how to keep our bodies healthy.

We went to Bloomfield Garden and planted our runner bean plants! We can't wait to go back to harvest the fruits!

In Science we have been learning about the life cycle of a runner bean! Look how tall our runner beans are.

We have our first published authors in Year 2 - congratulations!

We learnt a cultural dance with Don Rae!

The end of term was lots of fun getting ready for Christmas in Rhine class!

In Science, we had a bridge building competition to use our knowledge of materials to see who could make the strongest bridge.

In History we have been learning to play old games from the past! We played chess, dominoes, hoop rolling, dominoes, pick up sticks and tic tac toe.

In Science we tested how strong different types of paper were

We made kindness cards to give to our friends and family and wrote a poem telling others how to be kind

To celebrate Kindness Week we made posters to show others how to be kind

Congratulations to the children who had 100% attendance in Autumn 1

We learnt poems about Autumn and recited them with actions

In Science we made our own birds nest to attract birds to our local area

We used watercolors to paint a London skyline!
