PE & Sports 2024/25

WE ARE BACK!

We had a great start to the year by reaching the semi-finals of Westminster's tag rugby competition. The team played extremely well throughout the group stages, winning against St. Edwards, St. Peter's before narrowly losing to St. Josephs. Despite losing to St. Josephs, we managed to accumulate enough points to advance through to the semi-finals.

We played Essendine Primary School and lost 4-2 in a fiercely contested match, they would eventually go on to win the competition.

For 3rd place, we played St. Josephs, who were surprisingly beaten in the semi-finals. We decided to change tactics and match St. Josephs at their own game—and what a game it was! The game was so competitive that it went over by 10 minutes due to both teams being at a deadlock at 4-4. Reyadh and Ali scored brilliant tries, and defensively, we were 'out of this world'. Lodan, Jamila, Fatuma, and Shemar put on a defensive masterclass and adapted really well to the new tactics.

After a hard-thought battle, St. Joseph finally prevailed and scored a try in sudden death. We received compliments from onlookers who said 'it was the game of the tournament' and should have been the final!

I am extremely proud of everyone, especially with their ability to persevere through tough moments in the tournament and stick together as a team—well done!

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!

Huge congratulations to our amazing year 4 girls football team for winning Westminster's Girls Football Competition!

The team worked really hard and thoroughly deserved the win in a grueling match against favorites St Josephs Catholic Primary School. Having played the full time allocated, the game went down to penalties; we scored all 3 of our penalties and our fantastic goalkeeper made an incredible save to deny St Joseph and give us the historic victory!

The team will now go on to represent Westminster in a borough-wide football competition in the coming months.

Well done girls, you rock!!!

Well done to our Year 4 Boys' Football Team Semi-Finalists!

Here are some pictures for you to enjoy!

LONDON YOUTH GAMES

Well done to our reigning Westminster Year 4 Girls Football Champions for representing Westminster at the London Youth Games. The team performed well against tough opposition and produced an amazing array of skill, determination, and spectacular goals! Although falling short of the knockout stages, the team should be proud of themselves—you rock!

What a team!

YEAR 3/4 INDOOR SPORTS HALL ATHLETICS COMPETITION

Our brave athletics team deserves congratulations for putting on a spirited display in Westminster's Sports Hall Indoor Athletics Competition. The squad enjoyed competing against the other schools in Westminster and relished the opportunity to showcase their talent.

At Edward Wilson Primary, we enjoy competing and representing our fantastic school, whether we win, lose, or draw.
